Travelers Insurance Company
The St. Paul Travelers Companies, Inc. is engaged, through its subsidiaries, in providing commercial property-liability insurance products and services. Its property-liability insurance operations underwrite insurance and provide insurance-related products and services to commercial and professional customers throughout the United States and in selected international markets. The St. Paul also has a presence in the asset management industry through its majority ownership of Nuveen Investments, Inc.
In March 2004, the Company was merged with Travelers Property Casualty Corp., a property casualty insurance holding company engaged, through its subsidiaries, in two business segments: Commercial Lines and Personal Lines. The new company, St. Paul Travelers Companies, is a provider of commercial property-liability insurance and asset management services. Under the Travelers brand, the Company is also an underwriter of homeowners and auto insurance through independent agents.
